Jake Hendriks' collar souvenir
Wednesday, 13 August 2008
Jake Hendriks has kept his 'Hollyoaks' character Kieron Hobbs' dog collar as a souvenir from his time on the soap.
The actor - who is leaving the show after less than a year of playing controversial priest Kieron - admits he couldn't resist stealing a part of his traditional religious costume as he left.
He said: "The dog collar is just a little strip of plastic. I actually brought it home with me as a souvenir of the time I spent on 'Hollyoaks'."
Jake added he is keen to play a different type character after portraying such a morally correct figure on the Channel 4 show.
He said: "I think I would like to play a simpleton or a thug now. Kieron always seems to have the answers, and is thoughtful and complex, so I would like to go in the opposite direction."
Jake also revealed how he first got into acting.
He added: "I'm basically a failed art student. I went to art school in Wimbledon but signed up with an acting agent during my final year."
