Grant Bovey chopped from 'Hell's Kitchen'

Grant Bovey has been kicked off 'Hell's Kitchen'.

The property developer - who was initially tipped to win the ITV reality show - became the second celebrity to be given the chop last night (21.04.09) after chef Marco Pierre White accused him of not working with the team.

Grant, who was competing in the show alongside his wife Anthea Turner, said: "I was surprised he thought it was time for me to go. Anthea was upset. The environment was intense and we became like each other's right arms in there.

"Being on the show together has made our relationship stronger and we can finally cook together without bickering, though I think she'll force me to do a lot more at home now!"

'Shameless' star Jody Latham - who was also a hot favourite to win - was the first celebrity to be given the axe for repeatedly breaking Marco's rules.

He said Anthea was a "silly cow" and called Grant a "complete plonker", much to Grant's amazement.

Grant said: "I was offended by Jody's bust-up with Anthea because he offended my wife. I think in the heat of the moment he forgot where he was."

Earlier this week, former 'Blue Peter' presenter Anthea told the other contestants she played to wear Grant out with vigorous sex sessions in a bid to stop him winning the show.

Grant, 48, admitted: "Clearly it worked a bit too well because not only did we lose but I got the sack!"
