'Mr and Mrs' to hit America
Thursday, 1 May 2008
'All Star Mr and Mrs' is heading to America.
TV chiefs in the US are said to have been so impressed with how well the revamped ITV quiz show has done in the UK and are hoping to repeat its success in America.
A source said: "The big networks hope to get people like Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes on. But they'll probably end up with Paris Hilton and whoever her conquest is that week!"
'All Star Mr and Mrs' is presented by Phillip Schofield and Fern Britton.
Contestants on the Saturday night quiz have so far included footballer Theo Walcott and his girlfriend Melanie Slade, designer Laurence Llwellyn Bowen and his wife Jackie and 'I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here!' winner Christopher Biggins with his partner Neil.
The show is a celebrity remake of the 1970s game show 'Mr and Mrs' which saw three couples quizzed on their relationship and home life to win prizes. The original series ran for over 20 years from 1973 and was briefly brought back in 1999 by Julian Clary.
