Loose woman Kate Thornton
Friday, 24 July 2009
Kate Thornton is to become the new head of the 'Loose Women' panel.
The former 'X Factor' presenter will replace Jackie Brambles, and will share the hosting duties of the ITV daytime show with former weathergirl Andrea McLean.
Speaking about her new role, Kate said: "I am honoured, thrilled and delighted to be joining one of the best teams on TV.
"I can't wait to get started as the show heads into its tenth year."
It is Kate's first major TV job since being axed from 'X Factor' in 2007. She will make her debut in September when the show returns from its summer break.
Fiona Keenaghan, ITV's studio controller of daytime and lifestyle features, said: "I'm thrilled to bits that Kate is joining the 'Loose Women' line up and I know she is going to fit in brilliantly."
Kate will be joined on the panel by the likes of Carol McGiffin, Coleen Nolan, Jane McDonald, Sherrie Hewson and Melanie Sykes.
