Jesse Metcalfe back in 'Desperate Housewives'

Jesse Metcalfe back in 'Desperate Housewives'

Tuesday, 28 July 2009

Jesse Metcalfe is returning to 'Desperate Housewives'.

The actor, who played Gabrielle Solis' gardener lover John Rowland in the first season of the show, is confirmed to appear in two episodes of the next series of the US drama.

Creator Marc Cherry revealed John will return to Wisteria Lane as a "divorced man who is doing very well in a different industry."

He added: "When Ana (Maiara Malsh) finds out that Gabrielle had an affair with John, she sets her sights on him, which upsets Gabrielle."

Hunky Jesse has made a number of cameo appearances in the show, most recently two years ago.

He is expected to feature in the third and fourth episodes of the forthcoming sixth series.

However, show insiders insist his reappearance could turn into something more long-term.

A source told America's OK! magazine: "He'll be on for six to eight episodes, with the possibility of coming back full-time. He'll have a lot of shirtless scenes."
