Harry Hill's Generation show
Wednesday, 27 August 2008
Harry Hill is reportedly being lined up to host a new version of hit TV show 'The Generation Game'.
The bespectacled comedian - who currently presents 'Harry Hill's TV Burp' on ITV - is thought to be the hot favourite to host the revamped programme and BBC bosses are said to be planning to offer him a £4 million deal to transfer from ITV.

An insider said: "Harry is one of the top comedians on TV. Crucially he is someone who appeals to the whole family, so he would be perfect for the BBC on Saturday prime-time presenting a show like 'The Generation Game'. At the moment there is no question of Harry being unhappy at ITV, although in years gone by his TV show 'Harry Hill's TV Burp' was shifted around.
"If the BBC make a formal approach, expect a real tug-of-war. Let's be honest, he is the only funny thing on ITV at the moment. Something like a three-year-deal worth £4 million is being discussed."
Harry - who has been signed to ITV since 2001 - won the 'Best Entertainment Performance' and 'Best Entertainment Programme' awards at the TV BAFTA ceremony earlier this year.
