Fern Britton's size 10 to 22 sale
Thursday, 6 August 2009
Fern Britton's 'This Morning' wardrobe - spanning six dress sizes - has been sold off.
The presenter shed over 70lbs during her 10 years fronting the daytime show, which was reflected in the charity 'A Journey Through Time and Size' end-of-series fashion sale, held by programme chiefs.
A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "We always have a fashion and beauty sale at the end of each series - but this one was dedicated just to Fern.
"It was a mixture of dresses, skirts, kaftans and tops, alongside trousers in all sizes as well as shoes and boots, all in size seven. There were high street items as well as designer labels.
"I'm sure Fern kept a few things for herself, but the majority of her wardrobe went up for grabs."
Fern famously stunned viewers when it emerged she had undergone surgery to have a gastric band fitted to aid her weight loss.
The sale - which saw clothes ranging from sizes 10 to 22 sold from £2.50 to £50 - raised £2000, with the money being added to the sum raised by the star when she does a charity cycle ride in Jordan in October to help mums and babies.
