Fern Britton's latest show axed
Friday, 20 November 2009
Fern Britton's first TV show since she quit 'This Morning' has been axed.
Comedy quiz 'As Seen On TV' - on which Fern was a team captain - has been cancelled by the BBC after just one series.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: "Executives were not wholly satisfied with how it played out and thought some things could have been better.
"They have decided not to give it another go and are looking for new ideas instead."
'As Seen On TV' was launched in July on Friday nights and enjoyed an audience of 2.7 million, but was soon moved to Thursday nights.
Since leaving her post on the ITV morning show after ten years in July, Fern, 52, has not landed a long term role - though she has guest hosted Channel 4's 'Paul O'Grady' show in the host's absence and will front a four part BBC religious interview series next month.
