Roxanne Pallett quits 'Emmerdale'
Wednesday, 25 June 2008
Roxanne Pallett has quit 'Emmerdale'.
The 25-year-old actress originally wanted to bow out last year, but was persuaded to stay on by bosses who promised her stronger storylines in the ITV soap.
Her character, Jo Sugden, has been at the centre of a domestic violence storyline with husband Andy - played by Kelvin Fletcher - and soap sources warn things will get worse for her before she leaves in December.
An Emmerdale source said: "Roxanne wanted to leave last year but the producers put her at the centre of this big storyline, which is only going to get more harrowing.
"Now she has agreed her leaving terms and will go in a huge exit in December."
'Emmerdale' boss Anita Turner added: "Roxanne has given a fantastic performance and it will be an eventful six months for Jo."
Roxanne is reportedly keen to move to London to star in a play in the West End.
