Kelvin Fletcher would rather be killed off 'Emmerdale' by his character getting a deadly illness than having a tragic accident.
The 'Emmerdale' actor - who plays Andy Sugden in the ITV soap - says he would prefer his character to have a more excruciating and long death so he can prove his acting potential.
He said: "I wouldn't want it to be a big, sensational stunt like him getting caught in a combine harvester.
"I'd rather it was an illness - something that would really test my acting skills."
Earlier this month, Kelvin revealed his character may be considering ending his life after putting his on-screen wife Jo through months of domestic violence.
The star previously said he finds it really "easy" to play a violent husband.
He said: "I find it really easy to be aggressive and I find it easy to cry. It's weird when you are doing it. If we are doing a scene where I have to grab her, she'll say, 'Kelvin, just go for it.'
"All these things that have happened to him through his life have been bottled up and really affected him."
