Immigrant to divide Emmerdale
Friday, 16 October 2009
An illegal immigrant is set to arrive in 'Emmerdale'.
The sleepy Yorkshire village is set to be rocked when Ukrainian woman Olena sneaks onto one of the King family's haulage trucks, as they return to the UK from a French business trip.
The young blonde - played by Swedish actress Carolin Stoltz - will be seen escaping from the vehicle when it arrives in the village, but then found by children Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) and Will Wylde (Oscar Lloyd), who hide her away.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Olena's story about why she's run away will be revealed in the next few months. She's very grateful that the children are so kind to her but she's obviously scared and begs them not to tell anyone about her.
"That's what they try to do. Later some of the Dingles find out that she is an illegal immigrant - but other people who end up meeting her don't realise who she is. Her identity remains hidden until the new year."
When Olena's identity is revealed, it splits the village, with some wanting her to stay and others think she should be sent back to her home country.
