Steve McFadden's stair accident
Tuesday, 17 June 2008
Steve McFadden was rushed to hospital after falling down the stairs on the 'EastEnders' set.
The actor - who plays hardman Phil Mitchell in the soap - missed two days of filming after being hospitalised with a shattered hand.
Doctors pinned his hand and gave him 30 stitches, before they allowed him to go home with his arm in a splint.
Scriptwriters are now planning to write his injury into a forthcoming storyline for the BBC soap.
A friend of the actor revealed: "Steve had an accident on set - but he's not blaming the bosses. He had the operation and was back two days later. He's a proper geezer and just wants to get stuck into work."
Speaking about the injury, Steve said: "I'm feeling much better".
BBC bosses have reportedly asked Health and Safety officials to investigate the accident at Elstree Film Studios in Hertfordshire.
