Shane Richie wants EastEnders return

Shane Richie wants to return to 'EastEnders'.
The actor - who played loveable Alfie Moon in the BBC One soap before quitting in 2005 - is desperate for his alter-ego to return to the show with his on-screen wife Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) and become embroiled in the current plot involving the murder of Archie Mitchell (Larry Lamb).
He told Hello! magazine: "I might just gatecrash to be part of it. I could turn up at the back and when they say, 'Who killed Archie?' Someone can go, 'Alfie. Alfie did it!'
"I'm not averse to going back. Alfie is precious and dear to me but I'd only go back if there was a good reason for Kat and Alfie to return. People got so caught up in their love story."
The 45-year-old star still feels proud to be remembered for playing the lovable market trader.
He said: "We've all shared something, and what we've shared is Albert Square. No one will ever take that away."
The actor was recently reunited with his former colleagues for a photo shoot in celebration of the BBC soap's 25th anniversary.
