Samantha Janus married

Monday, 18 May 2009

Samantha Janus has married.

The 'EastEnders' actress wed her longterm partner Mark Womack - with who she has two children, Benjamin, eight, and five-year-old Rose - in London on Sunday (17.05.09).

A host of Samantha's co-stars turned up to celebrate her big day, including Barbara Windsor, June Brown, Adam Woodyatt, Steve McFadden and Patsy Palmer.

While other 'EastEnders' stars were happy to pose for pictures ahead of the ceremony, Samantha - who plays bar owner Ronnie Mitchell in the BBC soap - kept out of the limelight in order to preserve a magazine deal which will cover the nuptials.

Patsy Palmer (Bianca Jackson) wore a blue satin dress and heels for the ceremony, while June Brown (Dot Cotton) sported a white skirt suit and hat. Barbara Windsor (Peggy Mitchell) chose a blue dress and belted red coat.

However, Rita Simon, who plays Samantha's on-screen sister Roxy, decided on a more casual look, picking black leggings and top, a short skirt and Ugg boots.

Samantha and Mark got engaged last February after 10 years together.

The 36-year-old actress has previously said: "I am really excited. I have got loads of butterflies in my tummy. I would like to have a full traditional wedding with a vintage theme if possible, kind of vintage and classic. Sleek and elegant, more like 1920s-style."

Other soap stars to attend included Lauren Crace, who played Ronnie's daughter Danielle, John Partridge (Christian Clarke), Cheryl Fergison (Heather Trott) and Linda Henry (Shirley Carter). Pop stars Natalie Appleton and Mel Blatt also went.
