Patsy Palmer's bald wish
Friday, 19 June 2009
Patsy Palmer wanted to shave her head.
The 37-year-old actress - who plays fiery mum-of-four Bianca Jackson in BBC soap 'EastEnders' - admitted when she left the show for the first time in 1999 she contemplated getting rid of her trademark flowing ginger hair.
She said: "I went mad after my first stint in 'EastEnders' and chopped it off. I was going to shave the whole lot off at one point as some sort of delayed rebellion."
After experimenting with different colours for her locks, Patsy - who reprised her role as the cafworker last March - suddenly decided to return her hair to its "beautiful" natural state.
Patsy - whose real name is Julie Harris - added: "I dyed it brown and blonde, but then I just woke up one day and it hit me that it was natural and beautiful."
'EastEnders' is shown on BBC One on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
