Patsy Palmer's 'Apprentice' snub
Wednesday, 11 March 2009
Patsy Palmer has not been invited to the launch of 'Comic Relief Does The Apprentice' despite being a contestant on the show.
The 'EastEnders' actress has been left out of Friday's event (13.03.09) after show bosses tired of her bad temper during filming for the charity programme last year.
Patsy lived in a hotel with the four other female contestants ? Ultimo underwear boss Michelle Mone, former TV presenters Fiona Phillips and Carol Vorderman and comedian Ruby Wax ? but was involved in a series of vicious rows.
Patsy called Michelle "patronising" and "a stuck up cow". At one point the arguments became so bad Patsy walked off the show, but was eventually persuaded to return.
A source told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "Patsy felt that Michelle was belittling her. There was a lot of tension and it just boiled over.
"Patsy knows there is an event on Friday and she hasn't been invited, but she isn't bothered. In fact, she's relieved."
A Comic Relief spokesman confirmed Patsy will not be at the launch, but said it was due to work obligations.
Meanwhile, a contestant on this year's version of the original show, 'The Apprentice', has pulled out because of the credit crunch.
The male contestant ? one of 16 - completed just one week on the BBC programme before deciding to leave. He reportedly said he could not cope with making no money while on the show.
A show source said: "Many contestands are already high-fliers in their own careers and leaving that position is a huge risk. This man felt that in this current climate he could not risk his family's future."
