Larry Lamb loves being bad
Thursday, 2 July 2009
Larry Lamb loves being the resident 'EastEnders' bad boy.
The 65-year-old actor is reprising his role as Archie Mitchell - who was last seen leaving Albert Square following his disastrous wedding to Peggy Mitchell - and likes being evil because it's so different from his everyday life.

He said: "There's a real satisfaction in it. In life I'm basically a goody, so it's nice to play a baddie and see what it's like on the other side of the fence. I'm very lucky."
However, Larry - who also portrays loveable Mick Shipman on BBC sitcom 'Gavin and Stacey' - does find it hard not to break into a smile while filming.
He said:"I have to keep reminding myself who I am! Am I Archie Mitchell or Mick Shipman? I find it quite difficult to play Archie, actually, because I'm a bit of a smiley boy in real life. Living in his skin is a very unusual situation for me."
