Stacey Slater the role model?
Thursday, 1 November 2007
'EastEnders' star Lacey Turner is horrified that her character Stacey Slater has become a role model.
The 19-year-old actress worries that young girls who look up to maneater Stacey will copy her wild behaviour.
Lacey told Britain's Soaplife magazine: "I get letters from girls who look up to Stacey which is worrying.
"I wouldn't want anyone to think what Stacey does is okay - like smashing up cars and sleeping with her bloke's dad! There are girls like that out there but that's not a good thing!"
Stacey is set to get married to her fiancé Bradley Branning in a much anticipated hour-long special next month, after previously enjoying a sordid affair with his dad Max.
Lacey recently admitted she loves portraying a bad girl on screen.
She said: "I've always loved the naughty girls in the Square. As well as Kat Slater, Janine Evans was one of my favourites, and I'd always dreamed of playing a bad girl myself.
"I'd hate it if she was boring. Bad is much more interesting to play."
