EastEnders - Jill Halfpenny is pregnant
Friday, 8 February 2008
Former 'EastEnders' star Jill Halfpenny is pregnant with her first child.
The actress - who played undercover policewoman Kate Mitchell in the hit soap - is thrilled after discovering she is expecting and is due to give birth in May.
Her actor husband Craig Conway confirmed the happy news, saying: "I can't wait to be a dad, I'm very much looking forward to the birth of our baby, it's such an exciting time. We haven't asked its sex because we'll be happy either way."
Jill was "devastated" when she was axed from 'EastEnders' in 2005 but found herself in demand once again after winning the second series of 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
She went on to star in West End musical 'Chicago' and hit TV drama 'Waterloo Road'.
The 32-year-old star first shot to fame in children's TV drama 'Byker Grove', which was set in her native Newcastle, before landing a role in 'Coronation Street'.
