Charlie Brooks' soap return

Charlie Brooks' soap return

Friday, 3 October 2008

Charlie Brooks has explained her reasons for returning to 'EastEnders'.

The actress - who will reprise her role as Janine Evans in 'EastEnders' later this year - has revealed she intends to stay on the BBC soap for at least a year, and is looking forward to going to back to Albert Square.

She said: "I had a great time when I appeared in those few episodes for Frank's funeral earlier this year. I loved playing Janine again, particularly as she was wearing designer clothes and driving around in a flash car.

"I've been asked to come back several times over the years but the timing was never right. Now it is. I've signed a year's contract although ultimately I want to have a career away from 'EastEnders' too.?

Charlie also spoke about how she will balance looking after her three-year-old daughter Kiki and acting when she returns to 'EastEnders'.

She added: "We have so far been able to manage with friends and family looking after Kiki, but now I think I will have to get a nanny for a few days a week. The other days she's at nursery.

"Kiki is amazing - she's so inquisitive and such a little drama queen. I love being a mum."
