Doctor Who - David Tennant's warped enemy revealed
Wednesday, 2 April 2008
The first enemy in the new series of Doctor Who is played by Sarah Lancashire.
Sarah appears as a "warped Mary Poppins" character called Miss Foster.
Her character is a powerful businesswoman.
Sarah told the Daily Star: "I'm absolutely thrilled to be in Doctor Who.
"It's a brilliant episode and I'm looking forward to taking the Time Lord on.
She aded: "Miss Foster is, essentially, a nanny, a guardian to some rather unusual children. I see her as a slightly warped Mary Poppins. She's a strong woman.
"The first time I read the script I thought: 'Oh well, she's a baddy.' But the more I read it, I thought: 'No, she's doing what she's doing for legitimate reasons.'"
