Dancing On Ice - Suzanne Shaw says injury was more painful than childbirth
Wednesday, 5 March 2008
Celebrity ice dancer Suzanne Shaw has claimed her recent ankle injury was more painful than giving birth to her son.
The former Hear'Say singer told the Sun that she was "in absolute agony" after she chipped a bone in her ankle last week during rehearsals with her figure skating partner Matt Evers.
"When I did it and they put my foot in an ice bucket, the pain was worse than childbirth," she said.
Suzanne added that Matt has been a "great friend" throughout her time in the competition and said she is "determined to put in a mammoth effort" to ensure the pair is in top form for Sunday's semi final.
"I was terrified I'd have to pull out of the competition but I'm determined to keep going for Matt's sake. I nearly robbed him of the chance to compete in the final," she said.
Suzanne has a three-year-old son, Corey, with ex-boyfriend Darren Day. She currently dates DJ Jason King of radio duo JK and Joel and has said she is keen to adopt a second child in the coming years.
She has also recently signed on to be the new face and body of a lingerie range at Asda, it emerged this week.
