Dancing On Ice - Chris Fountain says bad things happen to his character
Thursday, 21 February 2008
Celebrity ice dancer Chris Fountain says that his Hollyoaks character is currently experiencing a run of bad luck.
The 20-year-old actor said that lately, it seems like a lot of negative things are happening to Justin Burton, his character on the teen drama.
"Only bad stuff tends to happen to Justin," he told Soaplife magazine, adding that a recent episode of Hollyoaks revealed that Justin is the biological father of baby Charlie, who is in hospital.
However, in real life, things seem to be looking up for the Hollyoaks star. Chris has just agreed to join the cast of Torvill and Dean's Dancing On Ice: The Tour.
According to the Press Association, rumours were circulating last month that Chris may leave his £70,000-a-year job on the Channel 4 soap for a one-off £100,000 deal to tour with the Dancing On Ice cast members.
But it looks as though Chris has reached a compromise with Hollyoaks, as the News of the World reported this month that he has chosen to remain on the programme.
Chris has been frequently named by bookies as the celebrity most likely to win the current series of Dancing On Ice.
Pop stars Gareth Gates and Suzanne Shaw are thought to be his closest rivals for the ice dancing prize.
