Chris Fountain's unfair Ice advantage
Friday, 14 March 2008
'Dancing on Ice' judge Jason Gardiner says Chris Fountain should not have been allowed on the show.
The choreographer - known for his scathing comments about the celebrity contestants - believes the 'Hollyoaks' star had a head start on his fellow contestants because of his experience as a semi-professional ice hockey player.
He said: "Chris has an unfair advantage because he was already able to skate.
"He had to work on his dancing but Zaraah Abrahams and Suzanne Shaw had to overcome their fear of ice. He didn't have the fear."
Awareness
However, Chris has defended his participation in the show, insisting: "It gave me an awareness of the ice but if they thought I was too good they wouldn't have allowed me in the competition."
Meanwhile, former Hear'Say star Suzanne has revealed how the contestants handle their nerves backstage.
She said: "To calm our nerves we go out and play pin the tail on the page 3 girl in the green room."
Chris is the hot favourite with bookies to win the final of the reality ice-dancing contest on Sunday (16.03.08).
