Ryan Thomas rules out naval proposal

Tina O'Brien doesn't think her boyfriend Ryan Thomas will dress up as Richard Gere to propose to her.

Tina - who has a baby daughter with former 'Coronation Street' co-star Ryan Thomas - says she doesn't think he will copy his recent proposal on the ITV soap to character Becky Granger (Katherine Kelly) when he pops the question to her.

Ryan's character, Jason Grimshaw, donned a full naval officer's uniform in order to propose - recreating a scene from 1982 film 'An Officer and a Gentleman', starring Richard Gere.

Tina said: "Now he has done it on 'Coronation Street' I doubt he's planning on doing it again!

"He was petrified doing that scene and was very embarrassed, so I don't think that would be how he'd propose. I think he would rather keel over.

"I did ask for a photo of him in that suit, though."

She also said Jason has naturally taken to fatherhood since the birth of their first daughter Scarlett in October last year - though she admits the news her pregnancy came as a shock at first.

She added: "Ryan made me take five pregnancy tests to be sure. It was hilarious. He went very silent when they were all positive and then said he was going out for a drive.

"He soon came back, super-excited. He just needed to work it out in his head. He's a fantastic dad, and besotted with Scarlett. She's changed our relationship entirely - it's so much better. I love our little family, and we're definitely want more children. In fact, Ryan wants three."
