Rosie Webster's underwear ideas
Monday, 1 June 2009
'Coronation Street's Rosie Webster is to become a partner in the Underworld factory.
The teen temptress - played by Helen Flannigan - buys shares with compensation money she is given for her kidnapping ordeal and decides the underwear business will branch out to designing for men.
She excitedly tells business partners Luke Strong and Tony Gordon - played by Craig Kelly and Gray O'Brien - of her plan, screaming : "Watch out Calvin Klein, here I come."
She tells the pair: "My ideas look absolutely amazing in my head. I know this will work. All I need to do is get the underpants down on paper and we'll all be rich."
While Tony hates the plan, Luke vows to support her idea and help get samples made to send to their biggest clients.
A source on the ITV1 soap said the new storyline will provide welcome light relief for Helen, whose character was held captive by her former teacher John Stape after they had an affair last year.
The insider told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Helen's had some harrowing storylines so it's nice for her to do something s little lighter.
"Rosie went through hell when she kidnapped. But she has bounced back and as long as she's got some money in her pocket, she feels able to start again.
"She's determined to make it big - and men's underpants are something she knows a lot about."
