Rob James-Collier's triple exit
Thursday, 26 June 2008
'Coronation Street' bosses have decided to film three separate storylines for star Rob James-Collier's exit, in order to keep the way he is killed off a secret.
The actor will depart his role as factory boss Liam Connor later this year and will leave the soap after being brutally murdered.
However, show bosses are so desperate to keep his departure storyline a secret, they are planning to film three different ways in which Liam dies.
An ITV insider said: "Rob actually wanted his character to be killed off. It provides us with the fantastic opportunity to give the viewers some sensational TV. The producers are rubbing their hands at the prospect of the whole murder scenario.
"People are sad to see Rob go as he is such a lovely bloke. But he was adamant that he wanted to leave."
The 31-year-old actor - who joined the soap in 2006 - announced his intention to quit earlier this year as he feared becoming typecast.
