Michelle Keegan has vowed never to go on a sunbed again.
The 'Coronation Street' star admits she used to have regular sessions under UV lamps to make her look more tanned, but had no idea of the terrible effect they were having on her skin.
Michelle, who plays Tina McIntyre in the ITV soap, said: "I used to love the sun bed look. I'm only 21 and you never think about your skin ageing at that age, do you?
"But I saw a TV show and that frightened the hell out of me. I am never going back on one and would warn others to do the same."
Michelle, who was crowned Best Newcomer at the British Soap Awards recently, also revealed she uses fake tan to ensure she looks sunkissed for awards ceremonies but makes sure she washes it off before work.
She added to New! magazine: "I have to wash it off for work with a mitten, as I am not supposed to look that great on screen. After all, I work in a newsagent's and kebab shop!"
