Gay icon Jack P. Shepherd
Tuesday, 29 July 2008
Jack P. Shepherd says he is often chatted up by men who think he is gay.
The 20-year-old actor - who plays teenage tearaway David Platt in 'Coronation Street' - claims he gets a lot of attention from gay men because of his fashionable appearance.
He said: "A lot of people actually assume I'm gay because I'm quite thin and into my clothes. I've had a lot of that sort of attention from blokes."
However, Jack - who is expecting a child with long term girlfriend Lauren Shippey - admits he finds the attention quite flattering.
He added to New! magazine: "I just say 'Oh, I'm not gay' and they go 'F**k off! I always assumed you were!' I suppose it's quite flattering. If someone fancies you it's not a bad thing is it?"
