Coronation Street - Trouble for Hayley and Roy

Things aren't going to be easy for Coronation Street's Hayley and Roy Cropper in the run up to Christmas.

Becky is busy preparing for Hayley's return and despite Roy's protestations that he doesn't want a fuss she has made a banner and even got some flowers for him to take to the airport. But Roy arrives back from the airport alone – Hayley wasn't on the flight.
Everyone is waiting for Hayley as Roy desperately tries to find out what has happened to her. Just as they start to get worried Hayley arrives back on the street by bus. Everyone is delighted but Hayley seems overwhelmed by the welcome and pleads tiredness to go upstairs.
A few days later...Roy believes it is jetlag making her distant but Hayley confesses to Sean that she is finding it difficult to adjust to being back. Roy finally gets to the bottom of his wife's behaviour when she confesses to him that she wants to go back to Africa.
Hayley claims she still loves him but Roy finds it hard to believe after everything she has said. Hayley's plans change however when she gets a visit from a fellow African volunteer.
It soon becomes evident that Hayley's reasons for wanting to go back to Africa might not just be about the place as she and Tilly discuss Olaf, another aid worker. But when Tilly gets a suggestive text from Olaf, Hayley realizes she has been foolish and tells Roy that she has no intention of leaving Weatherfield.
She confesses that she had a crush on one of the staff in Africa and feels very foolish. Ever forgiving Roy tells her to pretend she has just returned and they will put it all behind them.
Hayley is raring to go helping Roy out at the cafe but Roy has everything sorted leaving her feeling somewhat redundant. It isn't until both Becky and Fiz makes it clear to her how much they struggled with their problems when she wasn't around that she starts to realise she might have a talent she can put to good use.
Hayley gets an interview for a job at the youth centre but is convinced that she won't get the job because a criminal record check is bound to reveal details of her past which will disqualify her. Roy however thinks they would be fools not to employ her.
