Coronation Street - Tom Hudson's departure glee
Wednesday, 14 May 2008
Tom Hudson can't wait get away from his character Paul Clayton when he leaves 'Coronation Street'.
The actor revealed he is planning to take on roles which couldn't be more different from his character in the soap.
He said: "I've had the sort of offers you'd expect when you've been in a soap - pantomime and stuff. I'd love to do some theatre and I'd like to do something on TV which is a million miles away from Paul."
Tom also said it is more than likely that Paul will end up in jail, but might go on the run to avoid being sentenced.
He added: "It's bad. He is looking at the minimum of a two-year sentence. To make matters worse, he has disappointed his granddad Jack Duckworth and finds that hard to live with. So instead, he is thinking of going on the run.
"Jack then offers Paul £10,000 to help Paul if he runs but says if he stays he'll give him £30,000 once he it out of prison."
