Helen Flanagan's domestic desire

Coronation Street - Chesney steals Rosie's car and Becky sets the date

Monday, 27 July 2009

If you want to know what happens in Coronation Street this week (27th July - 31st July) then don't worry as we have all the gossip you could ever need.

Monday 27th July
As Joe makes plans to clear out the lock-up both he and Gail are surprised when David offers to help in case Joe's back gives him grief. Although Joe accepts the offer of help he insists his back is better and he is off the painkillers. Knowing this to be untrue David surreptitiously puts the tablets into his pocket before throwing the bottle onto the bonfire as they clear out the rubbish.

A stressed Joe later snaps at Gail before seeking out Graeme to ask if he can get him some more pills but Graeme refuses. David acts sympathetic and suggests Joe needs to stay on his medication for longer. Joe concedes but can't get any from the doctor. David offers to try to obtain some from a contact he met in prison as long as Gail is not told. Joe warily agrees.

Audrey brings Helen to the salon, still trying to calm her fears about Tony but Natasha is only too delighted to hear the gossip and offers to share her own bad experiences of him. Audrey visits Maria and questions her about Tony's motives for caring for her. Maria's defensive and asks if there has to be a reason.

It's Chesney's birthday and he's slept in and missed his paper round. Fiz gives him some trainers as a present but he's unimpressed that they're the wrong size.

Jason is worried about money and Tina hits upon the idea of asking her dad to fit the kitchen for free. Meanwhile, Joe agrees to her request but he is more preoccupied with finding out if David has got the pills - David tells him that he has and they will cost him 50 quid but when Joe comes to collect them David decides the price has increased - will David's latest mind games push Joe over the edge?

Tony decides to tackle the problem of Helen and Barry head on after seeing how upset it is making Maria. He takes them round to the house and apologises to Helen and Barry and suggests they try to be friends for the sake of baby Liam. Helen begrudgingly agrees.

Elsewhere Steve and Becky proudly tell Lloyd they've set a wedding date for two weeks' time and wonder if the wedding can persuade Liz to return from Spain.

Thursday 30th July

Joe's suffering from withdrawal but he tries to mask his desperation in front of Gail. Desperate to get the money he sells his jigsaw to Bill for £50, but Bill only has 20 on him. Joe gives the money to David and promises to get him the rest by the end of the day. But with no way of getting his hands on the cash Joe steals £50 out of Gail's purse.

When Gail returns and finds the cash missing from her purse she accuses David of stealing the money. David's furious and forces Joe to come clean. Joe makes out he's just borrowed the cash for materials. David delivers half the painkillers to Joe telling him he can have the other half when he persuades Tina to start being nice to him again. Will Joe give in to blackmail?

As she writes the guest list for the wedding Becky finds it lacking and decides to get in touch with Jim McDonald and invite him to the nuptuals as a surprise for Steve. On a roll she also enters a competition to win a dream honeymoon.

Chesney hunts for the receipt for his trainers so he can take them back. He's shocked when he finds an engagement ring in Fiz's coat pocket. Telling Fiz he couldn't find the receipt Fiz panics when she discovers her engagement ring is missing from her pocket.

Friday 31st July

Chesney is still furious that Fiz is lying to him and when he spots Rosie abandon washing her sports car to answer the phone, leaving the keys in the ignition he leaps in the car and drives off!

Hearing that Tony is going to be tied up with business for a few weeks Maria arranges to go and stay with Helen and Barry in Ireland. Tony's secretly disappointed that she's going but covers his true feelings.

David overhears Tina and Jason excitedly discussing their new flat and the fact that Joe is going to git the kitchen for free. David's furious and corners Joe telling him to split them up or he won't get his pills.

Chesney has somehow managed to make it down a few streets but the car is out of control and he almost hits Anna and slams on before bursting into tears. Anna helps Chesney wipe his fingerprints off Rosie's steering wheel and then takes him back to No.6 but not before explaining to him that the choices he makes now will affect him for the rest of his life.

Chesney realises that he has left the engagement ring in the car but it's too late as Kevin has found the car and returned it to her assuming it was taken by joy-riders. Will the truth come out if Rosie finds the ring?

Tina is furious when Joe retracts his offer to put in a free kitchen for her and Jason. Joe lies to Tina and warns her off Jason saying he's still got the hots for Becky and she shouldn't trust him. Worried by her Dad's words, Tina quizzes Jason about his feelings for Becky. Jason assures her Becky's history and Tina and Jason call round to see Joe. David listens from the stairs as Jason assures Joe that Becky's history and he and Tina are very much in love. David's gutted.
