Great British Menu - National Finals
Monday, 19 May 2008
It's the National Finals on Great British Menu – the ultimate cookery competition where 14 of the nation's top chefs have been battling for the chance to prove to the world that British food is up there with the very best.
This week the pressure is mounting as the seven regional finalists return to cook their entire menus again for judges Prue Leith, Oliver Peyton and Matthew Fort.
Each day the judges select their top three dishes from each course – but ultimately it's the public who decide which chef goes to the Gherkin to cook for top chefs from around the world, and who goes home.
At the end of each programme viewers get the chance to vote for their favourite dish.
To begin the week the chefs prepare their starters; the rest of their menus can be enjoyed over the course of the week, with decision day on Friday.
Jennie Bond narrates the action.
This episode is on BBC TWO, Monday 19 May 2008 @ 6-7pm.
