Paul O'Grady's wheelchair vow
Thursday, 24 April 2008
Paul O'Grady fainted while he was having a shower.
Paul O'Grady was rushed to the London Hospital following his fall.
He had took time off from presenting 'The Paul O'Grady Show' last week after coming down with a serious flu bug, but thought he was well enough to return to work on Monday.
He said: "I fainted in the shower on Monday morning. I was taken to the London Hospital and they X-rayed my legs, my chest and my arm.
"It turned out just my foot had swollen so I went to work. But as soon as I sat in front of the cameras I started sweating. I was in a half daze."
Paul - who suffered a second heart attack two years ago - has vowed to battle the bug to return to his presenting duties on Monday (28.04.08).
He said: "I feel terrible. Every time I get up I feel dizzy. I've been delirious. I'm rattling with antibiotics. But I'll be back next week - I don't care if it's in a wheelchair!"
A spokesman for the Channel 4 show said: "Paul had gone back to work too soon on Monday. Fortunately some of his friends have stepped up to the mark. We hope Paul will be fit to return on Monday."
Shane Richie - who had been booked as a guest for tomorrow's (25.04.08) show - will now stand in as presenter.
