Talent thievery?
Friday, 22 May 2009
'Britain's Got Talent' star DJ Talent has been accused of stealing his raps.
The gold-toothed performer's ex-flatmate MC Wicked - real name Richard John-Jules - is "furious" his lyrics have been stolen.
Wicked, 38, alleges Talent - real name Anthony Ghosh - used lines he wrote when he appeared on Channel 4 show 'The Friday Night Project' in 2007, and warned he will seek legal action if he uses them again.
Richard said: "He stole my signature lyrics that people know me by without asking. It's not the done thing. He doesn't seem to care. It's shameless and I'm furious.
"I'm talking to lawyers and if he tries to use my lyrics on 'Britain's Got Talent' I will see him in court."
DJ Talent, 30, denies he stole words from his former friend including the intro: "Bassline, bassline, big up the bass."
He told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "I deny all these allegations. They are my lyrics. I'm an international superstar celebrity why would I need to steal lyrics? I'm original."
Meanwhile singer Shaun Smith, 17 - who got through to the semi finals of the ITV show singing Bill Withers hit 'Aint No Sunshine' - has reportedly been told he must have a "younger" sound to appeal to viewers.
He is now said to be practicing tunes by more recent artists James Morrison and Michael Buble.
The semi-final of 'Britain's Got Talent' featuring DJ Talent, Shaun and Susan Boyle among other acts will
be shown on tomorrow night (23.05.09).
