Susan Boyle through to final

Susan Boyle through to final

Monday, 25 May 2009

Susan Boyle has made it to the final of 'Britain's Got Talent'.

The 48-year-old virgin - who has never been kissed - won a standing ovation from the audience after singing 'Memory' from musical 'Cats' on the ITV talent show last night (24.05.09), and went on to perform a special jig for judge Piers Morgan.

After her song, she danced around the stage and said: "This is for you Piersy baby."

Piers said: "You look absolutely beautiful and you sang well. When the world was going through a tough time you provided a bit of happiness."

Fellow judge Amanda Holden - who recently claimed Susan will have a singing career even if she doesn't win the talent show - added: "I am so glad it went well, I was biting all my plastic nails off. It was fantastic."

Before taking to the stage, Susan admitted she was extremely nervous but added she "liked a challenge".

Around 200 people from Susan's hometown of Blackburn, West Lothian, travelled to support her in the live semi-final.

Dance group Diversity were the other act to be voted through, winning special praise from Piers and Simon.

Piers said of their performance: "We are a diverse show and you are as diverse as they come. That was fantastic."

Only two acts from each semi final - one of which will be held each night this week - go through to the final.

10-year-old singer Natalie Okri narrowly missed out and was in tears when she was taken off stage by hosts Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly.

Despite choosing Diversity over her, Simon admitted he "adored" Natalie, prompting speculation he could sign her to his record label.

Dance act Faces of Disco, violinist Sue Son, dancer Darth Jackson, belly-dancer Julia Naidenko and stuntman Nick Hell were also voted off the show.

Tonight's episode (25.05.09) will see performances from female impersonator Mama Trish, singers Jamie Pugh and Shaun Smith, contortionist Merlin, ventriloquist Gareth Oliver, dance groups Flawless and Hot Honeyz, and rapper DJ Talent.

The live final of 'Britain's Got Talent' is on ITV on Saturday May 30.
