Susan Boyle crying over cat
Tuesday, 2 June 2009
Susan Boyle spent 24 hours crying for her beloved cat before being rushed to the Priory.
The 'Britain's Got Talent' runner-up - who has become a worldwide star following her appearance on the show - collapsed after she verbally abused producers at the London hotel where she was staying.
She was reportedly found wailing, "Where's Pebbles?" until medics organised a phone call to the pet - which is being looked after by her friends. Later she was taken to the world-famous London clinic.
A source said: "Susan couldn't stop crying and couldn't calm down.
"She worked herself into such a frenzy she fainted. We called down for a doctor and the production company called their general practitioner, who arrived with a psychiatrist to asses Susan, as she'd been under extreme pressure."
Another source added: "Susan was distraught and convinced they'd taken her cat."
One of the show's judges, Amanda Holden, says Susan - who is now being treated for exhaustion - needs to take a break from the limelight.
She told an US TV channel: "She has gone from a woman that nobody knew to worldwide fame. For anybody in the business to handle that kind of stress is an enormous amount of pressure. I think she probably crumbled under it. She will need some time to recuperate."
It has also been claimed the 48-year-old spinster will miss the 'Britain's Got Talent' tour because of her fragile mental health.
