Ant and Dec at the NTAs

Dec votes for king Simon

Thursday, 21 January 2010

Declan Donnelly said he'd like to live in a world ruled by Simon Cowell.

The TV presenter - one half of duo Ant and Dec - works with the reality TV mogul on talent search show 'Britain's Got Talent' and in the wake of his reported £500 million deal with Sony, reckons he's out for world domination.

Speaking at the National Television Awards (NTAs) last night (20.01.10), he told BANG Showbiz: "He will not rest until he's king of the world, surely.

"And I don't know about you, but I wouldn't mind living in a world ruled by Simon Cowell. Everything would be a public vote and it would be amazing, I'd love that. I'd get a say in everything."

Ant - real name Anthony McPartlin - and Dec took home two trophies at NTAs, including the Most Popular Entertainment Presenter award for the ninth year running, but said they had little time to celebrate as they are recording auditions for the next series of 'Britain's Got Talent' in Manchester today (21.01.10).

Describing the series so far, Ant said: "We've had dancing horses, talented dogs and a fair few nutters as well. Although, I guess, they're inevitable."

Dec added: "The horses weren't as talented as they thought they were. And they made an awful mess of the stage. It's inevitable, but they pooed all over the stage. It stunk of dung."

The cheeky Geordie duo added they have enjoyed making the series so far, and are looking forward to forthcoming auditions in England.

Ant added: "We had a great day in Glasgow, we've got three days in Manchester coming up, but this is our favourite part.

"Going out, meeting the public and doing the auditions. We have a great time. We are all really excited to be back."
