Britain's Got Talent - Scala are friends of Simon Cowell
Monday, 14 April 2008
Scala were invited to audition by Simon Cowell.
Scala became one of the favourites to win Britain's Got Talent after their performance on Saturday night.
The attractive string quartet are actually professionals unlike school boy Anthony Johnston and Kate, the girl with the dancing dog.
Victoria, Izzy, Chantal and Tasya have performed alongside McFly and were chosen to perform at the X Factor wrap party.
A source told The Sunday Mirror: "Simon has put an act through to the final stages that were already known to ITV1 staff - and personally invited to audition.
"They are already successful and have been working professionally for at least three years.
"It makes a mockery of the fact this is an attempt to discover new talent from the grass roots."
A spokesperson from ITV has tried to defend Scala by saying: "Scala went through the same application and audition process as everyone else.
Britain's Got Talent is open to any performer be it professional or amateur, with any talent."
