Britain's Got Talent - Piers Morgan loved Anya the dancing mum
Monday, 21 April 2008
Anya, the mum who enjoys dancing while she's cleaning made a lasting impression on the Britain's Got Talent judges.
Piers Morgan loved her performance but Simon Cowell couldn't wait for her to stop.
Piers has revealed all in his official blog: "The act that pushed Simon over the edge was Anya, the larger-than-life mum whose dancing can best be described as 'expressive.'
"As she hurled herself around the stage like a rhino on speed, I could see Simon getting more and more angry 'STOP HER!' he cried, giving me his Emperor Nero 'obey me or I kill you' look.
"But I was loving Anya's work, and so was the audience. So in open defiance of 'The Boss' – and yes, we do know what happened to Louis Walsh – Amanda and I urged Anya to carry on. And boy did she carry on!
"Eventually, Simon could take no more, and exploded – jumping up to slam down our buzzers with pure venom in his eyes."
Esther Rantzen believes that the show is cruel and pokes fun at people with mental problems.
Piers has hit back: "It's not cruel, Esther, it's funny.
"And nobody is forcing these people to come and audition, they do it all by themselves. Anya had a fantastic time, and I salute her."
Piers and Amanda both decided that Anya deserved to be put through to the next round.
