Britain's Got Talent - Dean Wilson didn't apply for the show
Tuesday, 6 May 2008
Dean Wilson's sister secretly filled in his application form for him.
Dean was shocked when he got a letter inviting him to audition.
He told his local paper: "She came in asking me 'what year were you born?' and the next thing I knew, I had a letter through the door saying 'you've got an audition' so I owe it all to her.
"Every child has a dream - being a fireman, a bobby or a pilot or something. I've wanted to be a performer for the last 10 years."
His family have always supported his desire to perform on stage.
His mum revealed: "At school he was a bit of a Jack the Lad. He wasn't naughty but he was mischievous.
"But I knew he could do it. I can't express how proud I am.
"It was quite strange to see your own son on TV. It was quite hard to take in. Although I knew what was coming when Simon stopped him it was still quite heart-breaking."
Dean added: "I give so much praise to my mum because she's been my main force and she's driven me about all over the country."
