Ryan Seacrest to judge 'American Idol'?

Ryan Seacrest may replace Simon Cowell as a judge on 'American Idol'.
The present host of the show could also take a place on the panel as a judge, expanding it to five members in a bid to keep viewers once Simon Cowell leaves the show at the end of its present series.
Speaking at a conference for the show, Simon hinted to Ryan: "Good news for you - when I'm not on the show you'll get to be more involved, Ryan, and I think that's a positive thing. You'll definitely get more airtime."
He also said it will be easy for him to fulfil both roles, adding: "You just literally jump from your stage, onto the judging chair, and that way you get an extra job. See, I'm thinking of you, even in my darkest moments."
The judging panel for the present series of 'American Idol' sees new judge, talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, songwriter Kara DioGuardi and producer Randy Jackson sit alongside Simon.
Neither Ryan nor broadcaster Fox, which makes the show, has commented further although an insider has said: "Anything is possible."
Simon will go on to front his show 'The X Factor' in the US next year, which is rumoured to include former 'American Idol' judge Paula Abdul.
