American Idol - Simon Cowell wants David Cook to win

Simon Cowell is looking forward to seeing who wins American Idol 2008.

Simon has been keeping quiet about who he wants to win but in an interview with Blender.com he has finally revealed all.

David Cook and David Archuleta will battle it out to be crowned American Idol 2008 next week.

Syesha Mercado was eliminated on Wednesday's show.

Simon wants David Cook to win.

He told Blender.com: "I think he's done more to deserve it over the eleven weeks.

"He's taken more risks, he's done things with certain songs that have been more interesting.

"If I'm gonna base it on who has done the best performances over the live shows, David Cook deserves to win."

Simon thinks the vote will be really close: "We're going to have a real humdinger."
