American Idol - Simon Cowell is giving £90m away
Tuesday, 22 January 2008
Simon Cowell decides to give his fortune to charity.
American Idol's nastiest judge is not that nasty after all. He has decided to leave £90 million to charity when he dies.
It is thought that Cowell has a fortune of £100 million. He will be leaving the £90 million to a mixture of children and animal charites.
The Britain's Got Talent judge made the decision to give the money away after chatting to his mum in Barbados over the Christmas break.
Simon told The Sun "Mum asked, 'Have you ever made a will?' I said, "Thanks a lot!' But it got me thinking."
Simon does support a number of charities. He donated £10,000 while in Barbados to set up a dog sanctuary.
Simon knows his girlfriend Terri Seymour and his family will respect his decision and not be offended. He told The Sun,
"Hopefully I'll be a lot older when it happens, so it won't affect them much!"
