American Idol - Kirsty Lee Cook was attacked by a gang

American Idol finalist Kirsty Lee Cook was forced to defend herself after she was attacked by seven girls.

Kirsty has also admitted that she has sent two girls to hospital after a fight in a nightclub.

The American Idol star told OK magazine: "I got jumped when I was 17 by seven girls.

"It was me and my friend - five were on me, two took her off.

"But I ended up on top!"

The incident in the nightclub happened more recently: "I'd just come off stage and I went right up front to watch my band perform.

"I guess this girl was having a confrontation with the woman I was standing next to, and she just walked up and punched me in the face.

"And I just came unglued!"

Kirsty is proud that she tackled three girls that night. Two of the girls ended up in trouble with the police.
