American Idol - Ruben Studdard song to be featured on show

A song performed by former American Idol winner Ruben Studdard will be incorporated into future episodes of the series this year.
The song - a cover of Celebrate Me Home, which was originally recorded by Footloose singer Kenny Loggins in 1977 - will appear in each episode accompanying the video montage of musical highlights for the contestant who is sent home.
According to Blend Music, last season's farewell song selection - Bad Day by Daniel Powter - became the year's top-selling digital download.
The single will be available for download from iTunes beginning March 12th and will appear on the programme in each episode after the top 12 contestants have been announced.
Produced by music industry veterans Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis - who have also worked with Usher, Janet Jackson and Mariah Carey - the new version of the track features Reuben "singing his pants off", Terry told the Hollywood Reporter.
US entertainment news source Access Hollywood also quoted American Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe as saying the first line of the song - "Home for the holidays" - has been removed to give it more year-round appeal.
