American Idol - Randy Jackson releases first album

Thursday, 6 March 2008

American Idol judge Randy Jackson is set to release his debut album - Randy Jackson's Music Club Volume One.

Randy, who is no stranger to music, has been involved with the industry for 25 years as a producer, record label executive and session bassist, but has never released an album of his own, the Baltimore Sun reported.

And although Randy does not sing on the album, the 12-track CD features a range of artists including fellow American Idol judge Paula Abdul with Dance Like There's No Tomorrow - her first single in more than a decade.

Other tracks on the album include collaborations with Crunk Squad and Ghostface Killah for Like A, as well as the talents of Sam Moore, Angie Stone and Keb'Mo' on a cover of Willie Dixon's Wang Dang Doodle.

Mariah Carey also appears on the album for the gospel ballad I Understand, which also features Hezekiah Walker's Love Fellowship Tabernacle Church Choir.

Randy Jackson's Music Club Volume One is set to be released on March 11th.

According to USA Today, Randy has praised current American Idol contestants Asia'h Epperson, Danny Noriega and Kady Malloy for their youthful talent, as all three singers are still in their teens.
