American Idol - Poll puts David Archuleta in top spot

American Idol fans believe that teen sensation David Archuleta is most likely to win the show's seventh series, according to a new poll.
The survey carried out by E-Poll and Reuters suggests that most viewers believe that the 17-year-old is most likely to take the coveted prize, despite picking 25-year-old David Cook as the more talented performer.
Conducted last week, over 1,000 people aged 13 and over were polled.
Simon Cowell also found favour with the respondents, 85 per cent of whom said the show would suffer without the abrupt Brit.
Cowell tipped Archuleta as the one to beat in February following the teenager's performance of John Lennon's Imagine.
And now it appears that the audience is inclined to agree with the music mogul, with 40 per cent of those polled saying they believe he will be the winner.
Nonetheless, 83 per cent of those asked claimed the judges had "little or no impact on their own votes".
Almost 30 million viewers tune in to American Idol each week, who will be hotly-anticipating this series' winner, to be announced during May's live finale.
Archuleta, from Utah, cites Natalie Cole, Stevie Wonder and Bryan Adams as some of his musical influences.
