American Idol - Jim Carrey trusts Simon Cowell's judgement
Friday, 22 February 2008
Comedian Jim Carrey said he does not trust the judgement of American Idol judges Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul.
MTV reported that the Canadian-born comic has said that Simon Cowell is his favourite judge, calling him "fun".
Jim also said that Simon appears to be the most upfront with the aspiring singers who appear on the show.
"I like Simon at least he's honest, you know what I mean? I don't trust the other two guys, I really don't," he said.
Meanwhile, fellow comedian Jimmy Fallon said he is a fan of host Ryan Seacrest, who he called "part of pop culture".
High School Musical and Hairspray star Zac Efron, actor Josh Hartnett, socialite Paris Hilton, actress Amanda Bynes, sitcom star Christina Applegate and Little Miss Sunshine's Abigail Breslin are among the other celebs who admit that watching American Idol is their guilty pleasure.
Filmmaker Quentin Tarantino called the competition "a real blast" to watch in its later stages, while British actress Emily Blunt loves to "root for the underdog" although she said the show plays "a dangerous game" as contestants may find their hopes dashed when they are eliminated.
Four contestants of the top 24 have been sent home - two male and two female - from the US show, which will air this evening in the UK on ITV2.
