American Idol - Carrie Underwood in text love split

For many, dumping a partner with a text message would be considered a bit cowardly, but for two US celebrities, it was just the ticket.
Carrie Underwood, winner of the fourth series of American Idol, split from her boyfriend Chace Crawford via SMS, AHN reports.
Rather than being offended, the pair were both glad to be able to cut ties in such a brief and faceless way, so busy are they with their respective projects.
Underwood told Extra that she and Crawford did not need to go through the process of a tearful goodbye - as they both knew that the relationship was beginning to run out of steam.
"We broke up over text so ... it's like 'peace out'," she explained.
"I don't like him, so it's no big deal."
Currently, Underwood has just filmed Idol Gives Back for the US talent show and is plugging away with her music career, while Crawford is working on TV programme Gossip Girl.
Since her success on American Idol, Underwood's career has gone from strength to strength.
As well as winning Grammy awards, she has seen her records go several-times platinum and become one of the biggest stars in country music.
